Bullying and Harassment:
A complaint was received from a manager within the public
sector that she had been subjected to a 3 year campaign of bullying against her. Our investigation revealed that of
the 40 complaints she was making, only 2 had any substance. The staff members were exonorated and the manager redeployed.
Discrimination:
An Asian staff member complained that she felt she had reached
a glass ceiling and was being discriminated against by her managers. Our investigation revealed a culture of bullying
and discrimination against ethnic minority staff, which resulted in a number of suspensions of senior management.
Social Services:
The mother of a disabled service user complained that staff
members at a care home had been verbally and physically abusing her son. Our investigation uncovered a regime of neglect
and abuse of service members, which resulted in a Police investigation. Employment Investigations Ltd. presented evidence
at Court on behalf of the Authority.
Education:
A staff member attempted to seperate two brawling pupils and
was himself assaulted by one of them. The pupil then alleged that the staff member had used excessive force against
him. Our investigation revealed that the staff member had acted entirely appropriately, and the pupil later admitted making
a malicious complaint. The pupil was subsequently dismissed.
A teacher was suspended following allegations she had
accessed indecent material on a school computer. Our investigation discovered that a pupil had in fact stolen the staff
members credit card and used the details to access the inappropriate content. As a result of our investigation, the
pupil was arrested and charged with theft, and was excluded from school. We represented the LEA at the exclusion hearing,
and the teacher was reinstated with immediate effect.
